Frequently Asked Questions

1

Is a TRIOS scan painful?

Not at all. The TRIOS scanner is completely non-invasive and pain-free. It simply hovers over your teeth to take digital images—no pressure, discomfort, or gagging.

How long does the scan take?

Most full arch scans take only 3–5 minutes. It's much quicker than traditional impressions and allows us to preview the scan immediately.

Do I still need physical molds or trays?

In nearly all cases, no. TRIOS replaces the need for old-fashioned trays and impression material, although traditional impressions may still be used in rare or specialty cases.

2

Are digital impressions as accurate as traditional ones?

more accurate>span class="TextRun SCXO154366374 BCX8" xml:lang="EN-US" lang="EN-US">. Digital scans eliminate common errors like distortion, shrinkage, or bubbles that can occur with physical materials. The result is better-fitting restorations with fewer remakes.

Can I see the scan of my teeth?

Yes! We’ll show you your 3D scan in real time on our screen. It’s a great way for you to visually understand your treatment plan.

Is TRIOS safe?

Yes, TRIOS scanning is completely safe. It uses non-ionizing light—no radiation—to create your digital model.

Can TRIOS be used for all dental procedures?

TRIOS is extremely versatile. We use it for dental implants, crown and bridge work, surgical guides, occlusal analysis, gum contouring, and more. In rare cases involving complex full-arch prosthetics or certain removable appliances, a physical impression may still be needed.
