Frequently Asked Questions about PRF

2

Is PRF safe?

Yes. Because PRF comes from your own body, there's no risk of allergic reaction or disease transmission. It is completely biocompatible.

Does it hurt to draw blood?

Only a small blood sample is needed, and most patients find it no more uncomfortable than a routine lab test.

How is PRF different from Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)?

PRF contains a natural fibrin matrix and does not require additives or anticoagulants like PRP. It also stays active longer, allowing for sustained healing over several days.

Will PRF make my surgery heal faster?

Most patients experience less swelling, faster tissue repair, and a smoother recovery compared to procedures done without PRF.

Do I need PRF for every procedure?

Dr. Sakhai will recommend PRF if it’s likely to enhance your healing based on your medical history, procedure type, and treatment goals. It is especially helpful in extractions, grafting, and implant procedures.
